Dear RCTC members
I hope you are enjoying the sunny weather. It was great to see so many of you playing in the Dalton Cup this Sunday afternoon- a great afternoon of tennis.
I am starting coaching some OUTDOOR pickleball at The Avenue LTC in Havant. I have arranged that RCTC members can join in with these sessions – you just need to pay a visitor fee on top of the fee. We had a very successful winter this year introducing this sport to the club and I know we have a strong pickleball community with our “Anyone for pickle?” WhatsApp group.

The pickleball sessions are now bookable via the Avenue app from 17th May.

Players will need to download the app, complete their profile (they will click if they’re a member or not) and then they can book onto sessions when they like!
There are two sessions that you can book onto
“New to pickleball” 9:00-10:30. This is a coached session which will look at different strokes in the game and will always finish with some competitive games. This will be much like the later sessions I ran in the parish hall on a Friday morning.
“ Competitive pickleball” will be 10:30-12:00 which is a social competitive mix in rotational play over the 2 courts, much like we played on a Thursday evening in the parish hall. There is a max of 6 players per court so you will only have very short periods off the court. It will hopefully be lots of fun, laughter and of course great pickleball play.
I can see some of you have already booked onto the sessions, and I look forward to seeing you on Friday. The pickleball courts are painted on Court 17 which is the end Astro court. There is parking at the tennis club and the gate will be open for players. You can also have a coffee or tea afterwards on the veranda (50p) and enjoy the atmosphere.

Once you have downloaded the Avenue app (see link above) you will then need to press onto “sessions”. You will find pickleball at the bottom of the page. Just click on the session you would like to attend and payment will be taken

Or £7:50 10:30-12:00
(Plus £2.50 visitor fee).
I hope to see some of our RCTC community down at The Avenue. We have also booked The Clanfield Community centre from October on a Tuesday evening for winter pickleball social mix in 7-9pm. Put it in your diaries! Pickleball is here to stay!

Dynamic Doubles on a Tuesday evening 6-7:30pm is FULL at the moment
Rusty rackets on a Friday afternoon is not running as there was not enough uptake.

I am available for 1-2-1 coaching £34 per hour or private groups £40 for 3-6 people.
