We were very sorry to inform members of the passing of Jane Dalton who, along with husband Geoffrey, was a long-standing member of the Club. Jane was a great sportswoman and especially enjoyed Ladies’ cricket, even playing in Norfolk Virginia when she and Geoffrey were living there and was fondly remembered by the locals. She had learned cricket when her father was Head of a Prep School and had joined in with the boys during their recreational time. Jane was kind, modest and a great support to Geoffrey in his long and prestigious Naval career. She kindly donated a lovely glass trophy in memory of Geoffrey, which we play for each Spring.
The funeral will be held on the 29th September at 1pm at Catherington Church. The Rev Angela Johnson will be officiating.
