Updates on court usage and other matters

It has been agreed with the Parish Council that public use of the courts will again be available on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

We have also decided to re-open Court 2 at all times from 15 June, so that we can increase the usage capacity and remove the 90-minute restriction. It is also recognised, that there are a number of social groups which meet for mix and match games with people swapping on-court play. Please remember that social tennis should involve no more than 6 people, as per the LTA guidance for venues below:“Limit activities to court rental and coaching activity for groups of no more than six people.”“Encourage players not to congregate on or around the court before and after play.”Please respect this and all other LTA guidance previously circulated and, in particular, when entering and exiting the courts do remember the 2 metre social distancing requirement.

It’s been noticed that the courts have been left unlocked on a number of occasions recently.  Would members please make sure the courts are padlocked after playing, especially if you are the last ones to leave the courts.  It’s please important that they are locked when not in use, to avoid vandalism and to make sure we only have paying members, guests or visitors on court.

A hand-sanitiser unit has been ordered, which should be available at the court in next few days.

Finally enjoy your tennis!

Best Regards, Roger – Secretary RCTC.
